Three straight wins! We remember what it was like to be 1-5. But we’re using that as fuel, not poison.
You know what I’m seeing in our locker room right now?
A bunch of guys who lead completely differently, all coming together.
Sunday wasn’t easy. We had to battle a hungry Vikings team in their territory. But we got it done together.
On the flight back to Baltimore, I was thinking a lot about this. That it takes all types of leaders coming together to be successful.
People think leadership is a one size fits all. If the C isn’t on your chest, you aren’t a leader. But that’s not how winning teams work.
Winning teams need:
The quiet guy who sets the standard nobody has to talk about.
The vocal guy who brings the energy when the room needs it.
The calm guy who doesn’t panic when things go sideways.
The young hungry guy who competes like he’s got something to prove, because he does.
The veteran who’s seen it all and knows exactly what to say (or not say) in the moment.
You need all of them.
Because the game (and life) throws different situations at you.
Sometimes you need someone to light a fire.
Sometimes you need someone to put one out.
Sometimes you just need someone to show up and do their job with zero drama.
Your Own Locker Room
You’ve got these people around you right now.
The coworker who never misses a deadline. Never complains. Just executes.
The teammate who brings the juiced up energy to every meeting and makes people believe.
The steady, experienced colleague who keeps everyone calm when things get chaotic.
The new person who asks great questions and works their tail off.
What Kind of Leader Are You?
Maybe you’re the vocal leader. The one who speaks up. Brings the energy. Calls people out when they need it.
Do that. We need you.
But make sure you’re backing it up with the work. Loud without substance is just noise.
Maybe you’re the quiet leader. You lead by example. You let your work speak.
Keep doing that. People are watching more than you think.
But don’t be so quiet that people who need your wisdom never get it. There are moments to speak up.
Maybe you’re the calm one. The steady hand. The person who doesn’t freak out when everyone else is losing it.
That’s elite. Don’t underestimate how much that matters when things get hard.
Maybe you’re still figuring out your leadership style.
That’s fine. Just show up. Do your job with excellence. The rest will come.
We still need to get better and keep working, but every rep builds confidence.
LFG!! Time to be 1-0 on another week!
